Military medical exercise “MEDCEUR 09”


On 15 June, The final plan conference of MEDCEUR 2009 military medical exercise was held in Nis, which represents the final stage of preparations for the international exercise scheduled for early September in Nis.

At the start of the conference, the reps of the Serbian and American delegations held bilateral consultations, and met with the organs of civil companies and the customs. The focus was on harmonizing all issues regarding the exercise with the representatives of ten countries, Partnership for Peace signatories.

At the end of the planning session, Lt. Col. Goran Desancic and Col. Timothy Brown signed the Bilateral Exercise Plan. On behalf of MoD and SAF, exercise coordinator Colonel Zeljko Petrovic stressed that the exercise HQ would be completed and fully operational late August/early September.

„MEDCEUR 2009“will be one of the most important joint activities planned for this year of the Serbian military medical service and SAF in general. This exercise has been organized for several years now in different countries, with our reps participating in the activities in Moldova in 2007 and Croatia in 2008.

This year’s exercise will be held in Nis from 2 to 14 September.
