The Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac and SAF GS Chief LTG Miloje Miletic will attend the practical part of the military medical exercise MEDCEUR 2009 on Thursday, 10 September 2009 at Nis military airfield at 10:00.

The exercise, held from 2 to 13 September, has more than 60 participants from 15 countries. The objective of the exercise is to train the military medical staff of armed forces of participating countries for the purpose of providing relief and support to those affected by natural disasters and other accidents.  The scenario of the exercise envisions a from of crisis such as an earthquake, flood, chemical accidents, fires, with a large number of casualties and injured and large-scale material damage. This is the first time that Serbia has hosted this exercise which has been conducted under EUCOM (United States Forces European Command) organization for several years now in the region of Central and South Eastern Europe.

The exercise demonstration will also be attended by the US Charge d’ Affaires Ms. Jennifer Brush, Defense Chiefs of Montenegrin and Croatian armed forces, Vice Admiral Dragan Samardzic and General of the Staff Josip Lucic respectively, chief surgeon of US Air Force Major General Robert Daily, foreign military representatives accredited to Serbia, members of the Red cross of Serbia, of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs and of other ministries in the Serbian Government.

Transport will be organized for the reporters from Belgrade. The bus leaves at 06:00 in front of the SAF Central Dome (19 Brace Jugovica Street).
