Seminar on civil-military cooperation and civil-military affairs

Within the military-medical exercise MEDCEUR 2009, a seminar on “Civil-military cooperation (CIMIC) and civil-military affairs” started in “Knjaz Mihailo” barracks in Nis which will last by 8 September 2009

The lecturers at the seminar are the members of the armed forces of the USA, Serbia, Germany, and Poland, as well as the Red Cross of Serbia experts and of the MoD Department of Emergency Situation. The number of seminar attendees is 70 where the majority of them come from Serbian armed forces, Serbian Red Cross and other Serbian ministries.

The main goal of the seminar is conveying knowledge in the field of civil-military cooperation, and civil-military affairs as well as planning response actions on occasions of natural disasters and establishing the command chain in emergency situations.

Seminar attendees, as the representative of governmental and non-governmental agencies, will be able to implement the knowledge they have gained  in organizing, planning, preparing and realization of activities where certain segments of the society jointly address a disaster or an accident.

As part of his visit to MEDCEUR 2009, LTG Miloje Miletic, SAF GS Chief visited the attendees of the seminar on 4 September.
